Last month Mary was invited to speak at a women's conference in Veracruz, Mexico. The women’s conference was a major success for the city. “Mujeres Sin Limites,” as it was called in Spanish was an event that broke all religious perspectives. They did not want to hold "just another Christian event."
It was planned using a kingdom perspective in order to reach a city full of women in need, who did not know Christ as their savior. In order to reach that specific target, they had to reach beyond the typical. They presented themselves as an organization that helped women be successful in their society, reaching beyond their limitations. There were no Bibles, no worship leaders, no “amens” or “hallelujahs”. It was completely focused to present the truth of God’s love in a simple message that all could understand.
They rented out a major venue. Real estate companies, jewelry stores, designer boutiques, health & beauty companies were just some of the event’s sponsors. The church rallied together, as well, to help with volunteers and with costs. The conference was a year in the making. The outcome exceeded all expectations. Fifteen hundred women attended the conference, when it was predicted that half of that amount would attend. The conference was broadcasted on radio and published in the paper. Important and influential women attended the conference. Many heard the gospel message, as it was displayed in a creative way.
The event was a huge success. They continue to receive calls from women looking for direction. The church is growing as result of the event. Below are a few pictures of the women's conference. We hope you enjoy. Thank you for your continual support and prayer.
Blessings,
Aaron and Mary Pugh
